The BSA Committee once again invites you to share some sake in conversation with your fellow BSA Members. With summer around the corner, our theme for this event will be the charming — at times ethereal — category that is ginjo-shu.
In sake’s long history, ginjo-shu represents a more modern style of sake, made possible only by developments in brewing science and equipment achieved during the last century. Characterized by fruity, floral, and fresh ginjo aromas, these sakes range from quiet and elegant to powerful and punchy. With each member bringing their chosen bottle, we will have a chance to share our stories and impressions of the selected sakes, while tasting widely from across the category. This study group is open to all – no prior sake knowledge is required, but for those with prior experience it will be a great chance to practice your tasting skills.
Included in their ticket price, Members can expect a fantastic spread of charcuterie, fromagerie, small plates, and Vagabond’s signature steak sharing platters, to enjoy alongside the sake kindly brought by attendees.

Attending Members will each bring one bottle of ginjo-shu to the event. After you have purchased your ticket, we will contact you to request you send us the names of two potential sake options you can bring on the night, so that a suitable selection (ensuring no duplicate sakes etc) can be made by the BSA Committee beforehand.
If you aren’t sure what to bring, just let us know and we will be happy to provide some suggestions! Food and glassware will be provided.
We kindly ask that Members do not bring Junmai Ginjo, Daiginjo, or Junmai Daiginjo styles on this occasion – we will hold study groups on all of these other styles in due course.
Our Masterclasses and Study groups are open to current members only.
