Following on from the success of our last sell-out Study Group, explore with us the much-acclaimed sake ‘Hakurosuishu’, crafted by Yamagata prefecture’s Take no Tsuyu Brewery.

Founded in 1858, Take no Tsuyu Brewery takes its name — meaning ‘Bamboo’s Dew’ — from the verdant bamboo grove in which it is nestled. Hakurosuishu is brewed using one of the many famous waters of the region, and the resulting sakes are dry yet mellow, with a soft umami flavour and a clean, refreshing finish — brewed with food pairing in mind.
BSA Committee Member Henry Thorogood will guide you through a brief overview of the region and brewery. We’ll then taste six special Hakurosuishu sakes, which are not available in the UK, alongside Vagabond’s special charcuterie and fromagerie and a selection of tapas-style dishes. We will taste:
- Hakurosuishu Dewanosato Junmai Ginjō Genshu
- Hakurosuishu Kame-no-O Junmai Ginjō Genshu
- Hakurosuishu Fairy 55 Junmai Ginjō Genshu
- Hakurosuishu Dewakirari Junmai Ginjō Genshu
- Hakurosuishu Miyamanishiki Junmai Ginjō Genshu
- Hakurosuishu Kairyōshinkō Junmai Ginjō Genshu
