“Essence 5 Sake by Chartier” New Sake Experiences with Michael League Masterclass at the Grand Tasting

« Essence 5 Sake by Chartier » will be launching their brand new blended sake “ZASSHU 雑種”, at the Grand Tasting. François Chartier has crafted this sake in collaboration with his friend Michael League, leader of the Grammy Award–winning NYC jazz collective Snarky Puppy.

Hosted live on stage by François and Michael, this unprecedented masterclass will feature the entire new Essence 5 Sake range from Yamaguchi, along with the new Nihonmatsu–Nakadori Zasshu sake, paired with Chartier’s breathtaking science of molecular harmonies.

Born at NINKI ICHI SHUZO, in the Nihonmatsu–Nakadori region of Fukushima, ZASSHU 雑種 unites music, innovation, and friendship.

Our last Chartier Masterclass in March was a sell out success and received high praise from those in attendance.

And as a special celebration, this world premiere also coincides with the release of the new Snarky Puppy album, Somni, out November 21st!

ZASSHU 雑種 Sake: born in Japan, unveiled in the UK.

There will be 2 sessions of this Masterclass to accommodate our guests’ different diaries:

First session: 6:00-7:00pm
Second session:  8:30-9:30pm

Important Note: To express our gratitude for your support, British Sake Association members will have an exclusive priority period until Friday 3rd October to purchase Masterclass tickets. Spaces for Masterclasses are limited so if you’re not a member, now is a great time to change that.

Tickets to the Grand Tasting, and especially the masterclasses, are strictly limited. As in previous years, we will operate a waiting list should the ticket limit be reached.

*** All purchases are final. If you have to cancel your booking after purchasing a ticket, we can offer a full credit towards a future BSA event up until 48 hours before the event date. After this time, a credit will only be possible if we can transfer your space to another member – thank you for your understanding.
