We’re delighted to invite you to NOMUYO, a one-night-only Japanese food and sake pairing pop-up, curated by renowned Japanese food specialist, chef, and BSA Culinary Officer Akemi Yokoyama.
This special evening is inspired by one of Japan’s best-kept secrets — the standing bars of Akashi. NOMUYO recreates the charm and energy of a traditional tachi-nomi (standing sake bar), bringing a slice of authentic Japanese bar culture to London.
At the heart of this experience is Tanaka-Ya, a beloved hidden gem in Akashi, Hyogo Prefecture. Run by third-generation owner Yasuki Tanaka, and powered by the all-female kitchen led by his wife Yuko, Tanaka-Ya has become a quiet legend among sake lovers in Japan.
NOMUYO channels that same spirit — vibrant, unpretentious, and full of flavour.
For one evening only, guests will enjoy:
- Six Japanese and Asian-fusion dishes inspired by the flavours of Tanaka-Ya.
- Premium sake pairings, hand-selected by Asami Tasaka of World Sake Imports — plus a refreshing shochu-based cocktail to begin the night.
Created by a passionate, all-woman team with deep roots in Japanese culinary tradition, NOMUYO promises bold flavours, warm hospitality, and an immersive standing bar experience that’s rarely found outside Japan.
Your Ticket Includes:
- Six hand-crafted dishes inspired by Tanaka-Ya
- Six premium drink pairings: 1 shochu cocktail and 5 sakes
- A relaxed, informal standing bar-style evening
