BSA x Sake Collective Aumont Brewery Masterclass on 24 June!

Niigata is Japan’s sake brewing powerhouse, with approximately 90 breweries in the prefecture. The prefecture is famous for its clean and crisp ‘tanrei karakuchi’ style, which was responsible for the local sake, or ‘jizake’, boom since the 1970s.

Located in Shibata City, Aumont Brewery is one of the top breweries in Niigata, continually pushing the boundaries of innovation in the sake industry. This year, they launched KAY sake, which targets bars to promote the use of sake in cocktails and mixed drinks. Richard Priest, Global Sales Director of Aumont Brewery, will take you on a fascinating journey through the brewery’s rich history and brewing traditions.

Date: Tuesday, 24th June 2025
Time: 7pm to 9pm
Address: Linden House
Upper Mall, London W6 9TA
(nearest station: Ravenscourt Park, District Line)
Tickets: £40 for BSA Members; £50 for non-Members

The masterclass will offer six different types of sake from the brewery, including the newly launched KAY sake and a secret sake not available outside of Japan!

It will also be an invaluable opportunity to engage in deeper discussions on the sake business, including the branding and marketing of sake in both the Japanese domestic and overseas export markets. Richard will be the perfect person to answer these questions (also tips for sake tourism in the city and around the region).

Don’t miss out on this exceptional chance for a one-to-one conversation with a brewery representative and enjoy an unforgettable tasting experience!
