WSET Level 3 Sake 4-Day Mixed Online & Offline Weekend Course with International Sake School

For individuals seeking to develop their expertise in sake, this qualification will provide you with a detailed understanding of the production methods that affect the style, quality and price of sake. Students will taste sakes hailing from Japan’s different regions using different water sources, different rice varieties, different yeast strains and different production methods, so as to have a thorough understanding of the huge array of sake styles and flavour profiles.

Upon completion you will be able to assess sakes accurately, and use this information and your understanding of sake to make authoritative recommendations. Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo.

Price: £733 per person, with VAT for BSA and non-BSA members.

Prerequisite: a Sake Adviser, WSET Level 1/Level 2 Award in Sake qualification, or have a strong sake or wine background prior to enrolment in the course.

Exam Date: In-person Exam, Sunday, June 8, 2025 – 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm GMT London time


The course fee includes WSET’s official study materials, classroom tuition, revision, sake samples, examination, certification and postage

The course will be taught by none other than Marie Cheong-Thong (Chairman of The British Sake Association) – WSET Certified Educator for International Sake School. The school has a 100% pass rate for the Level 1 Sake course; and most of the Level 3 Sake students have passed with “Distinction” or “Merit”

At least 30 premium sakes will be tasted as part of the course.

The WSET Level 3 Award in Sake is the highest sake qualification accredited by the UK Government, and is supported by Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries (MAFF) as well as the Sake Samurai Association.
