Next Member’s Study Group & Social on 1st July Discovering the Chūbu Region – Tickets now on Sale!

The BSA Committee is excited to once again invite you to sip sake in conversation with your fellow Association Members. Our theme for this meeting will be the sakes of the Chūbu region.Spanning the mountainous heart of Honshu and typically defined to comprise nine prefectures — Yamanashi, Nagano, Niigata, Toyama, Ishikawa, Fukui, Shizuoka, Aichi, and Gifu — the Chūbu region exhibits a huge variety of sake-making styles, from landmark sake-producing regions, influenced by the range of water, climates, rice varieties, and brewing guilds seen. Whether you choose a sake made from Gohyakumangoku or Miyamanishiki; a sake made in the style of the Echigo or Noto tōji; or perhaps a sake made to satisfy one of the many Geographical Indications found in Chūbu, there will be plenty for Members to explore in this month’s Study Group.

Attending Members will each bring one 720ml/750ml bottle of a sake of their choosing to the event. After you have purchased your ticket, please email us at events@britishsakeassociation.org to suggest two potential sake options you can bring on the night. The BSA Committee will go through attendees’ suggestions before the event to ensure a suitable selection (ensuring no duplicate sakes), and advise you before April 15th which of your suggested bottles to bring. Food and glassware will be provided.

If you aren’t sure what to get, we are happy to provide suggestions for you via email!

*** If you have to cancel your booking after purchasing a ticket, we are able to offer a full credit towards a future BSA event up until 72 hours before the event start. After this time, a credit will only be possible if we can re-sell your space to another member. Thank you for your understanding.
